monk on door

Forsake me, if I come to your door with my riches as a royal.
Defeat me, if I come to your door with my powers as a king.
Mystify me, if I come to your door with my wisdoms as a wise.
Deny me, if I come to your door with my ego as an emperor.
Accept me, only if I come to your door with my empty hands as a beggar.
~Sw. Chidananda Tirtha
