monk on door

Forsake me, if I come to your door with my riches as a royal,
Defeat me, if I come to your door with my powers as a king,
Mystify me, if I come to your door with my wisdoms as a wise,
Deny me, if I come to your door with my ego as an emperor,
Accept me, only if I come to your door with my empty hands as a beggar.
~Sw. Chidananda Tirtha
